Party vs Independent Candidates

Party candidates are nominated by a registered political party. They carry the party’s symbol, colours, and often align with the party’s manifesto. Party support can include campaign resources and a built-in voter base.

Independent candidates run without a party ticket. They may have left a party, failed to secure nomination, or chosen to run on a personal platform. They must meet the same nomination requirements and are judged on their own track record and manifesto.
