How to Vote on Election Day
What to Bring
- Original National ID or Kenyan passport
- Your voter registration slip (if you have it)
- Know your polling station—verify beforehand via IEBC portal or SMS to 70000
Voting Steps
- Go to your assigned polling station (check via IEBC verification)
- Present your ID to the presiding officer
- Your name is checked in the register and your finger is marked with indelible ink
- You receive ballot papers for each position (President, Governor, MP, MCA, etc.)
- Mark your choice in secret in the voting booth
- Fold the ballot and drop it in the ballot box
Important Tips
- Vote only at your assigned polling station
- Polls open at 6:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM
- If you are in the queue by 5:00 PM, you will be allowed to vote
- Mark only one candidate per position unless otherwise instructed
- Do not take photos of your marked ballot
